HE’S BAAAACK: Obama SLAMS Trump Over Immigration/Refugee Executive Order

He could only stand being silent for 10 days, The Daily Wire reports.

On Monday, former President Barack Obama’s office released a statement supporting protesters targeting President Trump’s executive order regarding immigrants:

Kevin Lewis, Obama’s spokesman, stated, “President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country. In his final official speech as President, he spoke about the important role of citizen and how all Americans have a responsibility to be the guardians of our democracy–not just during an election but every day. Citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake.”

But wait just a minute; wasn’t it Obama who restricted refugees from Iraq in 2011 after two Iraqis were arrested in Kentucky on terrorism charges?

Yup, it was.

Lewis dismissed that issue, stating, “With regard to comparisons to President Obama’s foreign policy decisions, as we’ve heard before, the President fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion.”

Except for the Little Sisters of the Poor, of course.

And weren’t the seven countries targeted by Trump the same ones Obama had himself targeted?

Yup. As the Department of Homeland Security stated last February:

The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries . . . Last month, the United States began implementing changes under the Act. The three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals.

Obama said recently, “As an American citizen who cares deeply about our country, if there are issues that have less to do with the specifics of some legislative proposal or battle, but go to core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it’s necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, then I’ll examine it when it comes.”

Apparently, Obama thinks America just can’t get along without him.

Even though they proved they could on November 8.
