Toddlers Are on Stimulant Drugs for ADHD

Now they are drugging toddlers? It’s not enough they pollute our food with GMO’s, poison our water with fluoride and inject millions with toxic vaccines, now they are labeling babies with ADHD and administering drugs? How does one determine a baby has ADHD, and, what kind of parent would acquiesce to administering medication (drugs) to their toddler! How did the normal, exuberant behavior of a child become a condition with a label requiring drugs!

The number of children being diagnosed with ADHD is on the rise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The sad part is that families are quick to opt for medications to treat their children. Two-thirds of children with a current diagnosis are being medicated — a jump of 28 percent from 2007 to 2011.

It’s shocking enough that 20 percent of teenage boys get labelled as having ADHD, and 10 percent are on stimulant medications for it; that 11 percent of all kids aged 4-18 get the diagnosis of ADHD and 6 percent the drugs; that stimulant prescriptions and Pharma profits are skyrocketing all around the world; and that ADHD guidelines encourage making the diagnosis and starting the drugs in kids as young as four.

Medicatin: Prescriptions for stimulant drugs such as Ritalin have increased twofold for children and adolescents in the UK with ADHD, and fourfold in adults between 2003 and 2008

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Number of children 3-17 years of age ever diagnosed with ADHD:  5.9 million
  • Percent of children 3-17 years of age ever diagnosed with ADHD:  9.5%
  • Percent of boys 3-17 years of age ever diagnosed with ADHD: 13.5%
  • Percent of girls 3-17 years of age ever diagnosed with ADHD: 5.4%

The very same experts who succeeded in promoting ADHD have now concocted and are promoting a new diagnosis that would be an added goldmine for pharmaceuticals, but terrible for the kids who would be misdiagnosed and over-treated.

A group of presumably qualified child psychologists invented a new and untested diagnostic category with the ludicrous name ‘Sluggish Cognitive Tempo’ to be used as another method of targeting children for additional inappropriate stimulant use.

‘Sluggish Cognitive Tempo’ is a ridiculous name for an even more preposterous proposal. Its main characteristics are loosely described as daydreaming, lethargy, and slow mental processing. Its proponents estimate that SCT afflicts approximately 2 million children.

The Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology is taking this new diagnosis very seriously. SCT is featured in 136 pages of its January 2014 issue. Included are claims that the question of its existence “seems to be laid to rest as of this issue” and that SCT is gaining momentum toward recognition as a legitimate disorder which means more children will be misdiagnosed and placed on drugs.

As ludicrous as SCT seems, the harm it will do to children is all too real. Child psychology/psychiatry/pediatrics and family medicine doctors have become overexcited to the point of excess diagnostic evaluation, pharmaceutical manipulation, and careless medication prescription. In just 20 years, rates of ADHD have tripled and Autism and childhood Bipolar Disorder have increased 40-fold; many attribute this to toxic vaccines.

We have become a society that is quick to medically label our children’s behavior as abnormal and administer drugs to make them more socially acceptable; by whose standards are children with high energy levels abnormal, and when will parents see that this is not about their child’s well being as much as it is about the power of the pharmaceutical industry and the holy dollar.
