Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump continues to dominate both mainstream media headlines and the polls. Trump has launched a new ad for television highlighting his controversial campaign as he charges into the new year.
“He’s calling for a temporary shutdown of Muslims entering the United States, until we can figure out what’s going on,” a narrator explains in the 30 second TV spot, titled “Great Again.”
“He’ll quickly cut the head off ISIS and take their oil. And he’ll stop illegal immigration by building a wall on our southern border that Mexico will pay for.”
Originally Trump dismissed the need for ads, but argued that he wanted to do them anyway.
“Honestly, I don’t know. I think I’m probably wasting the money,” he said on an interview with CBS’s Face The Nation. “But I’m $35 million under budget. Look, I was going to have 35 or 40 million spent by now. I haven’t spent anything. I almost feel guilty. I think if you want to know the truth, I’m doing the ads. I’m leading by, as you all say, a lot.”
