Gary Sinise, the actor who played the iconic role of Lt. Dan Taylor in the classic film “Forrest Gump,” has made it his personal mission to help wounded U.S. military veterans and their families.

Recently, Sinise and his foundation namely called “The Gary Sinise Foundation” treated 50 wounded servicemen and women on a three day, all expenses paid trip to Hollywood earlier this month. Their first stop was an all-expense paid trip to Disneyland where the heroes were given a guide who helped them skip the long lines so they could enjoy the park to the fullest extent.

Sinise, who recently spoke with TheBlaze about his efforts to help the nation’s disabled veterans said it’s more than a calling; “I just couldn’t not do anything,” he said. “I’ve seen a lot of need and I’ve become very committed to [being] somebody who can try to make a difference.” Gary’s efforts are not only appreciated by those he reaches out to, but commendable!
