President Donald Trump has invited congressional leaders from both parties to the White House, according to two congressional sources, setting the stage for the first meeting between top Democratic and Republican leaders and the President since the partial government shutdown began 11 days ago.

When Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) released her goals of a Green New Deal to combat climate change, the condemnation and mockery was swift from conservatives.

Critics called the plan ‘absurd, outrageous and impossible!’ They slammed the freshman lawmaker for being ‘brainless’, mocking the plan which punished those who worked hard to earn a living while offering financial security to those ‘unwilling’ to work.

Ocasio-Cortez teamed up with veteran Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts on the policy, which aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in 10 years.

Critics seized on parts of the plan, including Democrats’ acknowledgement that it would be difficult to reach a zero emissions society in a decade because they weren’t sure if they could ‘get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast’, the Daily Mail reports.

Conservatives were also critical of a part of the plan that called for every building in the U.S. to be upgraded or replaced to make them more energy efficient.

The non-binding resolution outlines several goals for the United States, including meeting 100 percent of power demand from zero-emission energy sources.

The plan also calls for new projects to modernize U.S. transportation infrastructure, de-carbonize the manufacturing and agricultural sectors, make buildings and homes more energy efficient and increase land preservation.

The resolution does not include a price tag, but some Republicans predict it would cost in the trillions of dollars. They denounced the plan at House hearings on climate change on Wednesday.

‘If anyone thinks that decarbonizing America is going to save the planet, they’re delusional,’ said Rep David McKinley, R-W.Va.

The Green New Deal would be paid for ‘the same way we paid for the original New Deal, World War II, the bank bailouts, tax cuts for the rich and decades of war – with public money appropriated by Congress,’ Ocasio-Cortez said.

While the Democratic 2020 presidential hopefuls were quick to embrace Ocasio-Cortez’ Green New Deal, more so because they want her support and the millions of millennials who follow her, the more moderate Democrats have been more critical, mostly because the plan is more talking points and aspirational, than something that can be implemented in 10 years like Ocasio-Cortez is calling for.

One thing that is obvious about Ocasio-Cortez, she does not take criticism well, and she will not tolerate the moderate Democrats refusal to embrace her, and her Green New Deal.

Breitbart reports:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned the Democratic Party establishment Friday that supporters of the socialist Green New Deal are now “in charge.”

“If you don’t like the , then come up with your own ambitious, on-scale proposal to address the global climate crisis,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a social media post.

“Until then, we’re in charge – and you’re just shouting from the cheap seats”:

Actor James Woods nailed it in his response to Ocasio-Cortez tweet:

So, you may have missed this, but the way it works in America is YOU work for US. The last time somebody told Americans to sit down and shut up was 1776. If you ever learn to read, look it up. You are not only a idiot, you’re an arrogant idiot, and there is nothing more dangerous.
