Bowe Bergdahl was not a POW, he sought the Taliban out.
There is no question that Bowe Bergdahl is a deserter, he admitted that much, but what many do not know, or what is not being reported, is that he was not a prisoner of the Taliban, he sought them out.
Bowe Bergdahl’s platoon leader, Sgt. Evan Buetow, described to Sean Hannity in 2014 how he learned that Bergdahl had abandoned his post to actively seek out the Taliban.
Berdahl’s platoon mates were interviewed by the military immediately following the incident. In that investigation, they all stated emphatically that Bowe had deserted and the army responded by placing the platoon on a gag order.

The lead defense attorney for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl said he wants him to receive the Prisoner of War medal.
His civilian lawyer, Eugene Fidell, on Friday said his client should be recognized for the five years he spent in Taliban captivity after deserting his post in Afghanistan, according to an article by USA Today.
“We have long felt he was entitled to the POW medal,” Fidell said, the newspaper reported.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Bergdahl’s defense team plans to push for the award as part of the process to appeal his dishonorable discharge.
Bowe is not just a deserter, he is a traitor to his country and should have received jail time – not the POW medal of honor.
