Common Core is an equal-opportunity destroyer. What it endeavors to do in teaching new methods of math, which has children so confused they can’t even do the math… is now unconstitutionally, and illegally changing the verbiage of the Constitution!
The photocopy of the page shown paraphrases the language of the Second Amendment as follows: [P]eople have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison. This lesson on the Bill of Rights from a “Common Core Approved” civics/government instruction booklet for elementary-middle school-aged students… notice how they changed the verbiage which in itself is unconstitutional!
“Common Core Approved” Civics Textbook Tells Elementary & Middle School Students That the Second Amendment Means U.S. Citizens Can Only Own Guns If They Agree to Register Them…” Really? This Common Core instruction booklet for elementary-middle school-aged youth tells kids a bold-faced lie about the U.S. Constitution and the original intent, and carefully written verbiage of the Framers. Not to mention they have no legal or Constitutional right to make such changes, they are making illegal and unconstitutional changes and implementing the indoctrination to our children who will accept it as the law, and refer to its edited version as was written by our Four Fathers! The entire scenario is a perversion of major proportion, and no one is doing anything to stop them; where is that worthless bunch in Congress, not doing their sworn oath and job, that’s where! How about the Senators also sworn to represent the People and defend the Constitution; I don’t see any outraged Constitutional attorneys speaking out either, and we know MSM won’t say a word!advertisement - story continues below
The Second Amendment reads as follows: “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Compare this language with the revised version pictured. Notice that arms has been changed to weapons and that the vital notion of “the right to bear arms” has been removed altogether. The biggest change is not so much what the textbook left out, but what they added. Nowhere in the original Second Amendment is there any mention of a provision that guns be registered. This is not just a matter of taking liberties with the language of the original document which is illegal and unconstitutional, it’s blatant perversion!
It’s important to note that not every state requires firearms be registered. There are 44 states that have provisions in their state Constitutions that are in principle similar to the Second Amendment.advertisement - story continues below
This is not the first textbook to historically revise the Second Amendment, but it is the most direct and blatant violation to change the Constitution which, simply put, is not only illegal, the verbiage is unlawful, and nothing more than left-leaning propagandizing indoctrination at its worst.
Many of the 46 states that adopted all or part of the Common Core Standards Initiative with little to no democratic input from voters (and parents) are now reconsidering the decisions. Indiana was the first state to opt out of Common Core. Oklahoma is poised to become the second state to repeal Common Core. Late last month, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence affixed his signature to Senate Bill 91, a law ordering public K-12 schools across The Hoosier State to stop using the controversial education standards.
The good news is, with so many states now waking up to the nightmare of Common Core and fighting to repeal it, there is a good chance it will crash and burn just like ObamaDONTCare!advertisement - story continues below
