With terrorist attacks taking place in Europe and the growing fear that Islamic terrorists will strike here in the United States, it’s important to take note when experts warn of impeding danger.
Herb London, president of the London Center for Policy Research in New York, explains (HT Toronto Times):
Could attacks similar to those in Paris happen here in Canada and the United States?
“We live in open societies, that’s what we want. But it’s vulnerable. That doesn’t mean an attack will necessarily occur, but according to CIA and FBI reports, approximately 1,000 members of ISIS who are sleepers in the U.S. and Canada are prepared to engage in attacks. We have to do everything in our power to prevent that.”
What is your take on the U.S. pausing its refugee program and Canada doing the opposite?
“The most important responsibility of a person in the United States is to maintain national security … It’s a terrible decision to let people in they cannot vet. We don’t have enough people for the FBI to do the job. All you need is one person to pull out an AK-47 and start firing at people. Canadians are in the same situation. Mr. Trudeau is wrong and you must remain vigilant over your borders.”
What does ISIS want?
“ISIS wants three things – a caliphate; they want to spread jihadism, namely the militant aspect of Islam; and third, they want Sharia. End of days isn’t discussed very much in the Qur’an, but is there an apocalyptic dimension to all this? Yes.”
Why is ISIS recruitment so aggressive?
“What ISIS is saying to misfits in Europe and elsewhere, ‘You’re 15 or 16 years old. You don’t have a girlfriend. You’re not doing well in school. You’re not recognized by your family. Come to Syria, we’ll have a concubine for you, so you’ll have sex and at the same time, you want adventure? We’ll give you guns.’ That’s the appeal. It’s very intoxicating. But this is not a real army, they can be defeated if there was a will to do so.”
How do you stop ISIS?
“I don’t think (U.S. President Barack Obama) recognizes that we’re in a war. We have to use air power. We have to use our special forces and military equipment we have and we can destroy ISIS. If they made me president tomorrow, the first thing I would do is send in 750 sorties a day. We’re going to bomb everywhere we can. If the French can find a target-rich environment as they did in Raqqa, why can’t we? Westerners say we don’t want war, but what they don’t get is ISIS is saying, ‘War wants you.’”
In light of the terrorist attack in Paris, and the news that many Syrian refugees have been caught with forged passports, one would think Obama would slow the influx of refugees into the United States.
Roughly 180 United States cities nationwide will receive a minimum of 10,000 “Syrian refugees,” who are mostly neither Syrian nor refugees, and are not “properly vetted.” The 10,000 number is misleading, as it excludes an additional eight people each refugee is allowed to bring, translating this number to 90,000.
