The mainstream media is politicizing this tragedy to push their gun control agenda.
A student who survived last week’s massacre at a Florida high school said that he does not believe that the mainstream media is covering the tragedy fairly.
Brandon Minoff applauded the students who are speaking out, but said those who do not agree with the gun control agenda are not being allowed to speak on the same platform.
“I definitely think it is a youth movement, but I feel like not all the youth is being listened to. I feel like the conservative side of it is being ignored, it’s just pushing gun control,” he told Laura Ingraham.
Minoff said the media has immediately focused on outlawing guns, instead of discussing how schools can be made safer, Fox News reports.
“It’s been a week. We are still mourning the loss of our loved ones and they are just still talking about what guns to outlaw, the kind of laws to create. Seventeen people just died at the hands of a human. Humans control guns,” he said.
The 18-year-old told Fox News on Wednesday, “I wholeheartedly believe that the media is politicizing this tragedy.” He explained on “The Ingraham Angle” that many of his fellow students are “uninformed” on the issue of guns and may be following the popular opinion.
“There are two sides to every story, but they only want to hear one.”
One of his fellow students, David Hogg, told Harris Faulkner that state lawmakers who do not act on gun control will be voted out of office by him and his peers.
Hogg said he feels the American people want more gun control and are not being represented due to the “oligarchy” and corruption in Washington, D.C.
