At least 23 charity organizations have canceled events at the presidents resort in Palm Beach, Florida according to a tally kept by the Palm Beach Daily News, which tracks Mar-a-Lago’s social calendar.
Many of the cancellations are a result of the Left and the mainstream media labeling the president a ‘racist’ after he accurately blamed white supremacists, Black Lives Matter and Antifa for the violence that ended one person’s life in Charlottesville, Va., earlier this month.
These groups all held events at Mar-a-Lago during the 2016-17 social and fundraising season.
Seventeen of those organizations made their decisions in the past week. The others made decisions earlier this year. One group, MorseLife, had two events planned at Mar-a-Lago: Organizers moved the MorseLife dinner from Mar-a-Lago before moving its luncheon from Trump’s club this week.
Three groups have committed to stay, and at least one is still deciding.
These three organizations have committed to keeping their event at Mar-a-Lago in the upcoming season:
These 23 charities have decided in recent months — or days — to move their event from Mar-a-Lago this season.
*Those with an asterisk decided to move earlier this year, before Trump’s comments about the violence in Charlottesville last week. The rest, starting with the Cleveland Clinic, have made their decisions since Thursday.
Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper (H.O.W) luncheon, moving to Flagler Museum
LIFE Lady in Red Gala, its board approved today
Preservation Foundation (Note: This event was at The Breakers last year.)
Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation luncheon
Susan G. Komen Perfect Pink Party
**MorseLife decided earlier this year to move its dinner dance from Mar-a-Lago, then this week decided to move its luncheon from the club as well.
Who’s STILL DECIDING
While many Trump supporters will condemn the charities for changing venues, these events are to raise money for their causes and can’t afford to get caught in the liberal mania to boycott anyone associated the president.
