Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s right hand, and co-conspirator in Clinton’s email scandal, made her debut on Twitter, delivering a not-so-clandestine shot at Dr. Ben Carson, a high-polling Republican nominee for President.
Dr. Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon, made headlines over the weekend when he said that he would not vote for a Muslim to become President of the United States, explaining that he belived the principles of Islam are not compatible with the U.S. Constitution. (HT Breitbart)
Appearing Sunday on Meet The Press, Carson was asked by host Chuck Todd if he believed that “Islam is consistent with the Constitution.”
Carson replied, “No, I don’t, I do not… I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation.”
Mrs. Abedin, the wife of disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner (which she does not mention in her Twitter bio), took to Twitter on Monday to respond to Dr. Carson’s comments:
Breitbart reported that Dr. Carson did not say that Muslims should be outlawed from serving their country, or that a contradiction occurred where a Muslim could not be proud of being both an American and a faithful person, as Abedin appeared to suggest.
In fact, Carson said he would weigh the individual Muslim on their merits when considering supporting their candidacy for higher office.
“It depends on who that Muslim is and what their policies are, just as it depends on what anybody else says… if there is somebody who’s of any faith, but they say things, and their life has been consistent with things that will elevate this nation and make it possible for everybody to success, and bring peace and Harmony, then I’m with them,” Carson clarified.
It remains unclear if a Huma Abedin congressional run would receive the support of Dr. Carson, as Mrs. Abedin and her immediate family continue to retain extensive ties to Islamist entities.
Huma’s history includes her past work at an Islamist periodical, the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs (JMMA). The journal was founded by a man named Abdullah Omar Naseef, who would later go on to aid Al Qaeda’s operations worldwide. Naseef recruited Huma’s father, Dr. Zyed Abedin, to run the journal in Saudi Arabia, Andrew McCarthy of National Review reported. Huma’s brother, Hassan Abedin, continues to serve as an Associate Editor of JMMA. Moreover, Abedin’s mother, Dr. Saleha Abedin, is a leader of an Islamist group known for its close ties to Hamas and other Muslim Brotherhood outfits.
