Nancy Pelosi Trashes President Trump Over US Embassy Jerusalem Move… That She Voted For in 1995!

In June of this year, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution confirming Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. President Donald Trump announced last week that he would finally recognize that fact and would move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Now, Nancy Pelosi is ripping the president over his decision, even though she voted in favor of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital back in 1995.

From The Independent:

Elsewhere, the decision has drawn mixed reactions in Washington. Top House Democrat Nancy Pelosi called Jerusalem “the eternal capital of the Jewish homeland” but said that the embassy relocation may needlessly spark unrest.

“In the absence of a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem now may needlessly spark mass protests, fuel tensions, and make it more difficult to reach a durable peace,” Ms Pelosi said in a statement.

More from The Daily Wire:

Yet in October 1995, Pelosi voted for the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995, which required the move of the embassy without precondition of a negotiated settlement, as there was no mention of any settlement. It stated:

Jerusalem should remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected; Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel; and the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999.

Fellow liberal Californian Dianne Feinstein finds herself in a similar situation, per Townhall:

What’s interesting about this critique is that Trump is complying with a law passed by Congress (the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995) mandating that the US government relocate its embassy to Jerusalem, Israel’s rightful capital city. Among the 93 Senators who voted for that law? Dianne Feinstein.

More from Times of Israel:

WASHINGTON — The US Senate unanimously passed a resolution on Monday that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.

Co-sponsored by 17 senators, including Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D), the text calls on the legislative body to recognize the half a century landmark since Israel captured the eastern part of the city during the 1967 Six Day War.

Pelosi and Feinstein are only saying this to oppose President Donald Trump making a historic move that his predecessors refused to do!

Trump took a shot at former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama when he tweeted a video montage of all three former presidents making promises to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city followed by a clip of him delivering.

Trump tweeted, “I fulfilled my campaign promise – others didn’t!”

Once again, the Democrats are showing that no matter what President does they will not support him – he could find a cure for cancer and they would find a reason to criticize him!
