Obama Attacks Fox News – Again

Once again President Obama criticized Fox News arguing that the network’s viewers are getting a different set of facts than the rest of the country. Meaning, Fox News is not reporting what Obama and the White House wants them to.

During a WTF Podcast with Marc Maron, Obama said that the media is “splintered” with all kinds of different news outlets.

“We’re not in a common conversation,” he said. “If you watch Fox News you inhabit a completely different world with different facts than if you read (the) New York Times,” he said.

Breitbart reported that Obama said media institutions such as Fox News and political organizations were trying to profit from polarization, and that’s leaving the political system in shambles.

“The problem is that there is this big gap between who we are as a people and how our politics expresses itself,” he said, explaining that government became increasingly “detached from how people live on a day to day basis.”

The consistent “negative feedback loop,” he argued, pushed good people out of participating in government affairs, making it worse.

“As a consequence then, the public withdraws, and you get worse political gridlock and polarization,” he said.
