Obama Bypassing Congress To Implement New Anti-Gun Regulations

The Obama administration is preparing new, unconstitutional gun regulations in an attempt to disarm law-abiding American citizens. It’s obvious that Obama is beginning his final assault on our Second Amendment rights by forcing his anti-gun agenda through executive force.

The Department of Justice, headed by newly appointed Loretta Lynch is working on new gun regulations to be implemented by the end of the year, according to list of rules the agency has proposed to enact before the end of the Obama administration.

The Hill reports:

The regulations range from new restrictions on high-powered pistols to gun storage requirements. Chief among them is a renewed effort to keep guns out of the hands of people who are mentally unstable or have been convicted of domestic abuse.

Gun safety advocates have been calling for such reforms since the Sandy Hook school shooting nearly three years ago in Newtown, Conn. They say keeping guns away from dangerous people is of primary importance.

The Justice Department plans to issue new rules expanding criteria for people who do not qualify for gun ownership, according to the recently released Unified Agenda, which is a list of rules that federal agencies are developing.

Some of the rules come in response to President Obama’s call to reduce gun violence in the wake of Sandy Hook. He issued 23 executive actions shortly after the shooting aimed at keeping guns away from dangerous people, and some of those items remain incomplete.

Michael Hammond, of Gun Owners of America‘s warned that the above reference to “criteria” would bar someone from owning a gun “who spanked his kid, or yelled at his wife, or slapped her husband.”

“The Obama administration is trying very hard to disqualify people from owning a gun on the basis that they are seeing a psychologist,” he added.

The NRA takes the stance that many people who are mentally ill may not necessarily pose a danger to society, and gun rights advocates are arguing that it would be more effective to deny, and monitor people on an individual basis, as opposed to banning all people who are mentally ill.

“A person who experienced a temporary reaction to a traumatic event or who has trouble handling household finances may well be treated the same as a violent psychopath,” the NRA wrote.

“Not only is this unjust and stigmatizing, it creates disincentives for those who need mental health treatment to seek it, increasing whatever risks are associated with untreated mental illness,” it added.

Obama’s gun-control agenda has nothing to do with mentally ill people obtaining guns, or with stopping crime. Just look to Benghazi, and Fast & Furious for the facts pertaining to Obama’s gun policies, or should I say gun-running policies.

Bill Clinton: ‘You Can’t Have People Walking Around With Guns’

  1. Disarm those against the government and Obama! Martial law won’t be difficult to implement if those individuals don’t have guns! Veterans against Obama…. Who runs the VA? The government so who determines who’s mentally ill? Those that work for the government!!!
People are going to stop reporting domestic violence attacks people aren’t a going to go to psychiatrists to vent or get simple counseling. But there will be incentives for neighbors to turn in their neighbors who have guns.

  2. They would be far more effective and carry far more support if they just enforced the current law that prosecutes lawbreakers instead of coddling them and punishing the innocent. Liberalism has caused far more damage to this nation and the world than any other force man has devised. People that know with certainty they will suffer a severe punishment for violating the law tend to be better law abiding citizens. Disarming law abiding citizens is NEVER the answer. God is the answer to everything but liberals refuse to look at that- until they have a jail for of inmates then it is ok to bring Bibles in and teach them religion.

  3. What part of “Shall not be infringrd” don’t they understand. They will make milleions of Patriotic Americans criminals with the stroke of a pen and create chaos. His program to change America fundementally is in full motion. God help those who follow him.

  4. I hear everybody screaming about gun control. We have too many laws. We don’t have enough laws. We don’t enforce the ones we have. We enforce them unfairly. They’re bad laws and don’t work. We ought to focus on arming more people. If more people had guns, there’d be less violence. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Guns in the hands of citizens counteracts the power of the government. I’ve lived long enough to hear every argument for and against gun control laws. What is missing is that we all need to talk this out with some measure of respect for one another? It’s a very emotional and personal issue for a lot of people. But we’re grown-ups here. We can talk sanely.

Is there anyone who seriously argues that the U.S. is not the most violent nation with regard to guns, by many times over, to any other industrialized nation? Does anyone think that guns are harmless? I don’t think so. In the hands of the wrong people, they inflict great harm. I don’t think anyone argues with that. So, why not talk civily with those who disagree with us? Why not listen to each other? Wny not figure out a meaningful way to reduce gun violence in this country? It won’t be easy, but it’s absolutely necessary. By failing to address these problems, we’re the laughingstock of the world.

  5. I moved to FL from WY where EVERYONE carried, children alike. The crime rate out there is minimal regarding violence from guns, compared to here. Ponder this: if EVERYONE carries, there’d be less violence, since you’d never know who was going to shoot YOU! I’d definitely vote for that!
