Rihanna: Donald Trump “Most mentally ill human being in America right now” Do You Agree?

n an interview with Vogue, Rihanna launched a scathing attack on President Trump saying that he is the “most mentally ill human being in America right now,” adding that the president’s response to the mass shooting in El Paso in August was “racist.”

Trump described the shootings as a tragedy, but also said: “Mental illness and hatred pulls the trigger — not the gun.”

The 31-year-old singer seized on comments the president made in the aftermath of mass shootings this summer in El Paso, Texas, and in Dayton, Ohio.

In both cases, a young white man, armed with a semi-automatic weapon, attacked innocent people in a two-day period of killings that left more than 30 dead, and triggered another conversation about gun violence.

Rihanna spoke to Vogue for an upcoming November cover story in which she discussed fashion, her music career and politics, saying “The most mentally ill human being in America right now seems to be the president.”

The magazine asked her about the El Paso shooting in August, in which a gunman killed 22 people at a Walmart.

“People are being murdered by war weapons that they legally purchase. This is just not normal. That should never, ever be normal,” Rihanna said.

She said President Trump’s characterization of the shooter as mentally ill was racist.

“And the fact that it’s classified as something different because of the color of their skin? It’s a slap in the face. It’s completely racist,” the Grammy-winner said. “Put an Arab man with that same weapon in that same Walmart and there is no way that Trump would sit there and address it publicly as a mental health problem.”

Rihanna has frequently used her social media accounts to attack President Trump, railing against his immigration policies, which she spoke about in the interview with Vogue.

Asked during the interview what advice she may have for immigrants to the country, Rihanna, who is originally from Barbados, said: “What do you say? What can you say? It’s gonna get better? I almost feel sick to my stomach. I don’t even believe this is happening in real life.

“In front of my eyes. In front of the world. It’s not even hidden. This is blatant.”

What is blatant is that the president is enforcing our immigration laws and trying to secure our borders. Former President Obama was referred to as the “Deporter in Chief“, and yet, Rihanna never criticized him.

President Barack Obama was dubbed “Deporter-in-Chief” by immigrant rights advocates for good reason. During his eight years in office, his administration formally removed more than three million non-citizens, compared to two million during George W. Bush’s tenure and about 900,000 under the Bill Clinton administration. At the time he left office, Obama was definitely the reigning Deportation Champion.
