Rush Limbaugh destroys the mainstream media’s accusation that Flynn will expose President Trump colluding with Russia.
ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross reported on Friday that he was told by a confidante that Michael Flynn is ready to testify “against President Trump,” and that then-candidate Trump ordered him to make contact with the Russians.
“He has promised full cooperation to the Mueller team. He’s prepared to testify, we are told by a confidante, against President Trump, against members of the Trump family, and others in the White House. He is prepared to testify that President Trump, as a candidate…ordered him and directed him to make contact with the Russians, which contradicts all that Donald Trump has said at this point.”
Ross added that he was told Flynn only made the decision to cooperate in the last 24 hours, and did so in the face of mounting legal bills, Breitbart reported.
The report set the mainstream media on fire with speculations flying about what Flynn knows and how it will effect President Trump.
Nationally-syndicated talk show host Rush Limbaugh was quick to respond and explained why Michael Flynn’s guilty plea shows special counsel Robert Mueller has nothing on the president.
“But there is nothing unusual about that. Once again, the lack of understanding by the drive-by media reporters — oh — Flynn’s pulling out of the joint agreement to share information, that means he’s getting ready to flip.”
“No, it meant he was getting ready to make a deal with the prosecutor, as such, it becomes unethical for the two lawyers or teams to communicate with each other when one of the people involved is going to cop a plea,” Limbaugh said.
“There was nothing unusual about this, and didn’t mean anything other than Flynn was getting close to make a deal,”
Limbaugh then explains why Flynn’s guilty plea is nowhere near as damaging as the mainstream media would like people to believe.
“This is a key point now,” Limbaugh begins, “When the prosecutor, Mueller, has a cooperator, Flynn, who was an accomplice in a major criminal scheme — a cooperator, Flynn, is made to plead guilty to the scheme.”
“This is critical because pleading guilty to the scheme proves the existence of a criminal conspiracy.”
“And then,” Limbaugh added, “when the perp allocutes, like tells the judge what he did, the accomplice, Flynn, explains the scheme and the actions taken by himself and his co-conspirators to carry out the scheme.”
“This goes a long way to proving the case.”
“You have a perp pleading guilty to a scheme that he was part of and then explains the scheme and all the other people involved.”
Arriving to his main point, Limbaugh says, “That’s not what happened here today!”
“Flynn did not plead guilty to a scheme!”
“He pleaded guilty to a process crime.”
“Mueller does not have proof of a scheme,” said Limbaugh.
Limbaugh concludes by saying that Flynn’s guilty plea ultimately shows that Mueller has no proof of collusion between the Trump team and Russia.
On Friday, Michael Flynn plead guilty to lying to FBI agents about making contact with Russian Ambassador Kislyak during the transition period.
