“These are very strange times,” talk-radio host Michael Savage told his listeners Monday as he introduced a guest.

Savage interviewed the son of a New York mob boss who has warned “psychopathic” ISIS that if it plans any attacks in New York, it will have to contend with the Sicilian Mafia, as WND reported.

Giovanni Gambino acknowledged people around the world have a certain image of the Mafia, and he told Savage he wants to “send a good message out there that we are on the world citizens’ side to fight this evil, this brutal evil.”

“We need to stand up all together to fight this monster,” he said.

Gambino entered into the current controversy over whether or not presidential candidate Donald Trump witnessed Arabs in New Jersey celebrating the Sept. 11 attacks.

“I saw it with my own eyes in Bay Ridge,” he said, referring to the neighborhood in the southwest corner of Brooklyn, which has a large Arab immigrant population.

Gambino agreed with Savage that the U.S. government’s inadequate response to ISIS has created a void, and citizens don’t feel the government is on their side.

Born in Sicily, Gambino said there have been no terrorist attacks on the Italian island because ISIS fears the Mafia and won’t set up cells there.

“The Sicilians would take action right away,” he said. “That’s why [ISIS] won’t attack.”

He’s working with a Hollywood writer on a movie script about the origins of the Sicilian Mafia in the 14th century.

“It was born to protect the innocent people, to protect the Sicilian people from oppressors that Sicily had for many, many, many years,” he said.

Gambino said that if confronted with a threat from a suicide bomber, for example, the U.S. government has limitations.

“For them to intervene before the fact, they need to gather evidence,” he said. “And by the time they gather evidence, it’s too late.”

Savage asked whether or not the U.S. government would stop the Mafia from taking action against ISIS if officials discovered the mafia had a specific plan to act.

“I’ll break a few legs. I’ll break an arm or two,” Gambino said. “You have to do certain things for the good of the world, to protect us.”

He noted he has two daughters and a son.

“If you’re going to go down, you’ve got to go down as a man. That’s what my father taught me,” he said.

Savage commented: “This is the most interesting story I have come upon since these subhumans appeared on the planet. Unless we all join together and use every means necessary, I have terrible fears that they’re going to continue to gain territory and do more horrible things. And we certainly don’t want them on our soil.”

Gambino concluded: “We need to stand up together.”
