President Trump is not taking the Democrats impeachment witch hunt lightly, in his usual form when attacked he is fighting back and not pulling any punches. Unfortunately for Joe Biden, the Democrats have made him the sacrificial lamb.

Trump is blasting Democrats and “their media lapdogs” in a new campaign ad, claiming they seek to impeach him for wanting to investigate corruption in Ukraine that involves former Vice President Joe Biden.

The 30-second ad that Trump tweeted out Friday afternoon opens with Biden boasting about getting the Ukrainian prosecutor fired after he threatened to withhold $1 billion from Kiev. The footage is from the former vice-president’s January 2018 appearance at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Democrats now seek to impeach Trump for asking Ukraine to investigate corruption, while “their media lapdogs fall in line,” says the video as it shows the faces of CNN and MSNBC anchors.

“They lost the election, now they want to steal this one,” the narrator intones over the footage of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California). “Don’t let them.”

The prosecutor whose firing Biden demanded was reportedly investigating a Ukrainian gas company that employed his son Hunter as a board member, to the tune of $50,000 a month, although he lacked any qualifications for the post – all while his father was the Barack Obama administration’s point man for Ukraine policy.

During the course of the telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump brought up Biden stopping the prosecution and said “a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general [William Barr] would be great.”

“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great,” Trump said on the call, according to the memo released by the White House. “Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.”

Trump released a declassified version of the whistleblowers complaint that says “multiple White House officials with direct knowledge” of the call expressed concern that Trump was using his office for his personal political gain.

House Democrats have argued this amounts to asking a foreign country to meddle in the upcoming 2020 election and used it as their basis for the impeachment inquiry.

Biden has been leading in the polls for the Democrats’ 2020 presidential nomination until recently, and the Democrats investigation seems to be hurting Biden more than Trump.

Interestingly enough, the House launched unofficial impeachment proceedings against Trump, even before the White House published a declassified transcript of the call on Wednesday,
