Approximately four hours later, Aurora police officers “were fired upon while responding to a call,” the warning said. It is unclear if the shooting was an ambush situation.

Aurora Police spokeswoman Diana Cooley could not confirm any details of the threatening 911 call. Cooley said Aurora police officers heard gunshots near Elmira Street and Florence Way while responding to an unrelated call around 9:45 p.m. Shortly after, shots were fired toward the officers, Cooley said.
