House of Representatives’ senior ranking Democrat, Nancy Pelosi, said she was concerned that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to the U.S. Congress in March, it may result in negative ramifications for the ongoing nuclear talks with Iran.
It was recently reported that Iran built an 89-foot missile which may have the capability to strike the United States. In May 2014, Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei pledged to destroy the United States through “battle and jihad.”
Pelosi said that it was “not appropriate” for Netanyahu to come and speak “two weeks before an election.” Netanyahu will be in the United States for AIPAC’s annual Washington, D.C. Pro-Israel conference in March.
It’s become apparent that the Obama administration is abandoning Israel, its best ally in the Middle East to follow through with his statement when he said the “United States is not, and never will be at war with Islam. Islam teaches peace.”
The Israeli PM is set to speak to the entire Congress on March 3, 2015.
