White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed Thursday that President Trump would prioritize a meeting with Kim Jong Un to prevent potential nuclear war over being interviewed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller… as should all Americans.
White House reporter Brian Karem asked Sanders if Trump considered himself above the law—”No,” she replied emphatically – before he followed up by asking, “Does he prefer to sit down with Kim Jong Un versus Bob Mueller?”
“I certainly think that the president feels like stopping a nuclear war and helping protect the safety and security of people across the globe would certainly be the number one priority of the President of the United States, and certainly I would think would be the priority that most Americans would share and support the president doing,” she said.
The Free Beacon reports:
Following a historic meeting last week between Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae In, Trump is set to meet with Kim in the coming weeks over what the U.S. hopes will be the start of the regime abandoning its rogue nuclear weapons program.
The Washington Post reported Mueller’s team raised the possibility of issuing a subpoena to Trump to appear before a grand jury, leading to a rebuke from the president’s legal team. Trump has repeatedly called Mueller’s Russia probe a “witch hunt” and denied any wrongdoing regarding the sprawling investigation.
