Baltimore’s Mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told reporters that she instructed police to give the mobs rioting over the death of Freddie Gray, who died of spinal injuries after his arrest in Baltimore on April 19, “space to destroy” as is their right of free speech.
“I made it very clear that I work with the police and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech,” Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told the media.
“It’s a very delicate balancing act, because while we try to make sure that they were protected from the cars and other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well,” she said.
“And we worked very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to deescalate.”
This woman is an idiot and should be removed from office immediately! Destruction of property whether public or private is NOT exercising free speech you moron it’s a CRIME in all 50 states! How’s that “de-escalating” thing working out for you so far you mindless twit? It seems every police department , mayor’s office , and any position of authority is now occupied by blacks and chaos swiftly follows. No the police did not do anything right in the arrest and injury that led to this young man’s death, I am very angry about the whole situation and I believe a lot of changes need to be made, but the “Mayor’s” statements are WRONG. Well, I have seen it all now.
Rioting is not free speech. A lawful assembly in protest would be exercising free speech. Rioting is anarchy. And they have no right to destroy personal or private property. It the mayor thinks they do have that right, then they need to go to her home and destroy her space. Maybe then she will see the light and come to the truth.
