Barack Obama’s time in office was plagued by scandal. Operation Fast and Furious. Benghazi. His IRS targeting Tea Party groups for harassment.
And now he’s been accused of being the ringleader for what may become the worst scandal in American political history.
Donald Trump rocked the political world when he unleashed a series of tweets alleging that Barack Obama had illegally spied on his campaign, The American Patriot Daily reports.

Trump was reacting to reports that the Obama administration had sought a FISA warrant against him, and then obtained one to gather information from a server in Trump Tower which the FBI believed had been communicating with a Russian bank.
This proved to be false.
Heat Street reported:
“The FISA warrant was granted in connection with the investigation of suspected activity between the server and two banks, SVB Bank and Alfa Bank. However, it is thought in the intelligence community that the warrant covers any ‘US person’ connected to this investigation, and thus covers Donald Trump and at least three further men who have either formed part of his campaign or acted as his media surrogates. The warrant was sought, they say because actionable intelligence on the matter provided by friendly foreign agencies could not properly be examined without a warrant by US intelligence as it involves ‘US Persons’ who come under the remit of the FBI and not the CIA. Should a counter-intelligence investigation lead to criminal prosecutions, sources say, the Justice Department is concerned that the chain of evidence have a basis in a clear warrant.”
If Obama was spying on Trump for political purposes, it would be the biggest scandal in American history.
Obama would have subverted the functions of the intelligence community from protecting America to trying to gather damaging political information on a rival.
That type of conduct only takes place in authoritarian countries.
Devin Nunes – the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee – announced his committee will investigate the surveillance of the campaign.
The Hill reported:
“. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) on Sunday said the House Intelligence Committee will investigate any alleged surveillance of political parties as part of its investigation into Russian interference in the election.
“One of the focus points of the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation is the U.S. government’s response to actions taken by Russian intelligence agents during the presidential campaign,” Nunes said in a statement.
“As such, the Committee will make inquiries into whether the government was conducting surveillance activities on any political party’s campaign officials or surrogates, and we will continue to investigate this issue if the evidence warrants it.”
