President Donald Trump started off his reelection campaign at a jam-packed arena of 20,000 people in Orlando, Florida. More than 40 hours before the rally his supporters started lining up outside the Amway Center.
Trump raised a staggering $24.8 million in the less-than 24 hours after kicking off his re-election campaign. Do the math: that’s more than a million dollars an hour for an entire day.
The number includes the $14 million raised by the Trump campaign and the more than $10 million raised by Trump Victory, the joint fundraising committee with the RNC.
The jaw-dropping numbers were announced in a tweet on Wednesday morning by Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. It dwarfs what the top Democratic contenders in the 2020 White House primary raised over the course of the first three months of this year.

The record breaking amount demonstrates the power of incumbency, enforcing the democrats concern that they are not doing enough to prepare for the match-up with Trump.
Trump already reported $48.7 million cash on hand at the end of March, spread across three committees tied to his campaign. The Republican National Committee had an additional $34.7 million during the same period.
The Democratic National Committee had just $7.5 million with $6.2 million in debt.
Trump’s campaign had set a goal of $7 million for the reelection kickoff rally day in the hopes of beating top Democrat primary challengers record fundraising earlier in the year. Joe Biden made headlines for raising $6.3 million on his first day and Beto O’Rourke raised $6.1 million on his first day. Sen. Bernie Sanders brought $5.9 million.
Biden touted that he had raised nearly $20 million in one quarter during a fundraiser on Monday.
“With your help, you’re going to allow me to be able to compete in a way that I’ve never been able to do before,” Biden bragged to donors gathered at the home of billionaire Wall Street financier James Chanos. “We’ve raised a great deal of money.”
